THE COOL GIRLS OF SUMMER ON INSTAGRAM I'M LOVING RIGHT NOW

It’s a hot, hot summer, and I need some inspiration to keep cool. Someone recently pointed out that since starting this blog, I’ve spent more time focusing on other people than I have on myself. If this was meant as a critique, it is one I will happily embrace. Perhaps the best part of writing a blog is that in a short amount of time, I have had the opportunity and privilege to meet so many new faces (and mis-remember as many names … shaaame!). While it is pretty tongue-in-cheek (or as Stuffy Muffy says, “tongue-in-chic”) around here, it is my hope that this blog will always be outward-reaching and still inward-looking. The interviews are just getting started, and I can’t wait to share more about myself at a later date. For now, less about me and more about the four talented and hardworking women who are keeping it cool and whose Instagram stories I look forward to opening every day. Here are four of the coolest girls this summer:
Chai Vasarhelyi
When it comes to cool, the Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker of Free Solo is just the definition. I could not even keep it together watching, and her direction is no small feat considering that any moment climber Alex Honnold could plunge to his death from El Capitan. Her professional accomplishments aside, she wears Chanel with the ease to which I wear fleece, is a mum to two, and like me, calls Jackson Hole home. (Her husband, Jimmy Chin, is pretty cool, too.) Chai’s Instagram is always a delight, and I can’t wait to see what she casually shows up wearing to an awards ceremony with the Duchess of Cambridge or to my neighborhood favorite, Sudachi, on a Wednesday night.
Bradley Agather Means
So there’s cool, and then there’s Dallas cool. Bradley Agather Means (or, according to the voices in my head, “Bagather,” after her Instagram handle @BAgather) of style blog Luella & June is the Dallas darling for all things effortlessly chic. She’s even making pregnancy (and moving house while pregnant, in Dallas, in AUGUST) look like a walk in the doggone park. She’s a true influencer in that she once made me madly crave Puffins, and it seems we both have the same hair product affinity. Plus, like all of us, she gets it from her mama… what could be cooler than having a free-wheeling style matriarch named Safari Elaine?
Indre Rockefeller
The founder of cult luggage brand, Paravel, Indre Rockefeller’s Instagram account has been fun to follow, precisely because I’ve been living vicariously through her Jackson Hole adventures this month while back in Dallas. She also brings a level of style to the mountains that I have been long-awaiting, she does it well, and she’s not afraid to be self-deprecating, like the time she misplaced her hiking clothes while visiting Yellowstone. Totally cool. Follow her here.
Emily Jackson
With a name like Stuffy Muffy, you better be cool, or else you better have one Belgian shoe-clad foot in the grave whilst clutching a dog-eared copy of the Preppy Handbook. Emily “relish(es) in a generously poured wine spritzer, traveling to blissful locales, needlepoint, a page turning read, Bravo reality television (it’s practically sociology!), and supporting causes near and dear to my heart.” Sounds like a girl after mine own! She also makes a mean kale salad, and her witty writing style could convince even the curmudgeon of all curmudgeons that formal can be fun.
Follow, and stay cool!
